At least 72 people have been killed and 278 others wounded in Gaza over the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures released by the Hamas-run Ministry of Health. The ministry noted that the numbers do not include casualties from northern Gaza due to restricted access to hospitals in the area.
Since the conflict began on 7 October 2023, the ministry reports a total of 54,321 deaths and more than 120,000 injuries across the territory.
**Charity Rejects Reports of Injuries at Rafah Aid Centre**
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has dismissed reports from the UN Human Rights Office claiming that nearly 50 people were injured during an aid distribution event in Rafah earlier this week.
In a statement released on Thursday, the US- and Israeli-backed organization called the reports “inaccurate,” adding, “No civilians or individuals involved with the distribution of aid were injured, no lives were lost, and all available food was distributed without interference this week.”
The charity also announced plans to expand its operations in Gaza, with new aid distribution sites expected to be established in the coming weeks, particularly in the north.
