Aminul Islam Bulbul Appointed New BCB President
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has elected former national team captain Aminul Islam Bulbul as its new president, according to a gazette notification issued by the National Sports Council (NSC) on Friday.
Aminul replaces Faruque Ahmed, who served as BCB president for nine months before his removal.
In the new leadership lineup, Nazmul Abedin Fahim has been elected as senior vice president, while Fahim Sinha has taken over as vice president.
Aminul was officially appointed president on August 21, 2024, following the resignation of former BCB chief Nazmul Hassan Papon. Papon stepped down from abroad in the wake of a student-led mass uprising that led to the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government earlier in August.
